If you also need to resize your content, you will need an imposition application (I use Quite Imposing Plus for that). This time, we crop out the letter sized area: Crop 0.35" from both bottom and top, and leave left and right untouched: Open up the Crop tool (Tools>Pages>Crop) and first select to "Change Page Size" to a custom size of 8.5"x11.7" - this will create a page that is as wide as a letter sized page, and as tall as an A4 sized page. In both cases, you would need Adobe Acrobat (this will not work in the free Reader). Do you want to only change the page size, or do you also need to resize the content?
